Matchweek 3 has already introduced a lot of early drama to the Premier League 2026/27 season and Manchester City and Arsenal are riding the crest of the wave in the early going.
They have continued their undefeated run for the best part of the season with an impressive 1-0 win over Coventry City, where Erling Haaland netted all the unmissable goals. City improved to three wins from three in the league and are level with Arsenal on nine points.
Arsenal also sit 100% winners from the weekend, having secured one of the games of the weekend. The defending title holders were coming from behind to overcome Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates. It was preceded by an early lead being claimed by Morgan Rogers for Chelsea, but Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard followed the proceedings of the Gunners.
Chelsea sit on six points after dropping their first game whilst Hull City have made an impressive start with two wins and a draw. Liverpool also have their first win of the season and down Ipswich Town 2-0 in Matchweek 3.

In the other two sides of the SELFLANTERS table, Coventry City and Fulham have neither scored nor conceded a goal, and Tottenham only scored their first goal with a goalless draw with Nottingham Forest. Needing their first victory, Aston Villa are also on the hunt.
The early three rounds offer hints of a yet another intriguing title fight in the making, but it’s still very early in the campaign. City and Arsenal have begun on a perfect start, while a number of teams are in a tough spot to improve.
