There are a few of the major competitions in football, and two of them are arguably the biggest such tournaments: the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. In the Premier league, it tests clubs in entirely different ways.
What do you think of that approach is the Premier League approach?

The top level of domestic football in England with 20 clubs is the Premier League. Each team matches 34 other clubs twice a season, for a total of 38 games for each team. They win three points and draw a point; the team at the top is the English winners.
The consistency is its greatest hurdle. Clubs have to play through a complete league season, with points they have earned at any other game being a factor in the race for the final league championship. The tournament is held in a promotional and relegation format, which makes the quest for promotion at the top and relegation at the bottom that much more significant.
