If you thought Paris Saint-Germain were going to ease into their Champions League campaign, think again. The reigning champions made a complete statement at the Parc des Princes, putting on a comprehensive rout of ŠK Slovan Bratislava 6:1, a game that was less a game and more a demonstration of firepower.
A Dream European Debut for Ferran Torres

The highlight of the night was summer signing Ferran Torres, who made his Champions League debut with PSG and sold himself out. Ousmane Dembélé was quick to respond with a brace soon after, before Torres fired in a fine cross from Dembélé for the opener. He pickpocketed the defense again in the second half; only two minutes of the second half had elapsed before he guided in a quick corner into his bag in the 57th minute. It was clinical and sharp and made him the only ninth Spanish player to get a hat-trick in the Champions League.
Dembélé Sparks the Fire early

The players with the ball were in charge, with Ousmane Dembélé leading the way. The Frenchman was useless up front, eating into the wing on the 17th and 23rd minutes, before switching to playmaking and helping Torres to two of his goals. Slovan Bratislava did grab a briefly celebrated consolation goal through Suleiman Camara in the 59th minute, but Luis Enrique’s side never lost grip of the evening. Fabián Ruiz finished the festival with his own goal in the 88th minute, to add a bow on the six-goal performance.
