Barcelona’s impressive form to kick off the 2026/27 campaign has been seen in the latest La Liga awards nominations for the monthly period, where four of their players have garnered awards for excellent form. Under Hansi Flick, the Catalans have been near unstoppable in their outings to the extent of opening a five-point advantage at the summit of the league table.
La Liga nominations were headlined by club captain Raphinha, who is nominated as Player of the Month for the league. In fact, the Brazilian striker was on a steaming hot run himself, having scored 12 goals this season for his team. However, September was a special month for him, starting up with a goal against Valencia and adding two assists to Levante’s total. Raphinha then went off on his own to add two hat-tricks for Racing Santander and Sevilla in one month, which bolstered his image as one of Europe’s top in-form forwards.

Hansi Flick is also a candidate for Coach of the Month after four league wins in September for his team. Light years in front of their competitors, wearing his laughing and bustling smile, his team netted 19 goals and allowed just five, and toasted away the night with a pure acting display on the opposite level.
Young defender Pau Cubarsi has earned a place among the nominees for the U23 Player of the Month award. The highly rated 19-year-old featured in three of Barcelona’s four league matches during the month and played a key role in helping the team remain defensively solid. That was a match in which the Portuguese stalwart scored two brilliant goals, one potentially for the individual award.
The callout of names for Barcelona indicates the club’s authority in September, and it highlights the reason why the restart of La Liga has come to a standstill this year, as Flick’s side is laying the groundwork.
