Lamine Yamal continues to enjoy incredible form at the beginning of the new campaign. The Catalan beat his previous benchmark, having hit seven goals and two assists in his first six competitive games of 2026/27. Lamine Yamal has scored 6 goals in 5 La Liga games. Lamine Yamal continues to make strides since bursting onto the scene with some eye-popping numbers at the start of the new season.

The teenager has already scored seven goals and provided two assists in six starts across all competitions so far in 2026/27. An incredible achievement in itself, his numbers look even more impressive in La Liga where he has scored six goals in five games, all of which have been in braces, sharing the top spot with none other than the legendary Lionel Messi.
The last player to score three braces in the first five games of a La Liga season was none other than then-captain and true club icon Messi back in 2012/13 with every goal scored in a brace at Spotify Camp Nou against Real Sociedad, against Osasuna at El Sadar and against Getafe at the Coliseum.
With his brace against Levante FC at the Ciutat de Valencia this past Sunday, Yamal has matched the feat and last featured against Rayo Vallecano in the 5-2 win at Spotify Camp Nou. Before that, he scored twice in the 5-0 victory at Mestalla versus Valencia. And he scored two more in the 4-1 win at home against Granada.
The 19-year-old’s incredible numbers have helped propel him to the top of the La Liga scoring charts too, where he is also joint with last season’s top scorer Mbappe, alongside the likes of Raphinha and Sergio Camello, whose contribution so far has come as a shock for many this season.
There is no doubting it, though – with the international break right around the corner, the La Masia graduate can boast a record no other 19-year-old in Barcelona’s history can.
